Building Pages from Scratch and Formatting
Building Pages from Scratch and Formatting
(Note that if you've built from a template, the same options to edit and customize as discussed here still apply)
When you select Build from Scratch, you will be brought to blank, editable version of a Landing / AISR page.
To first understand how to customize pages, note that there are three levels of formatting options:
Tab Formatting
AISRs have a Tab bar at the top of the page, which is essentially the navigation bar when you have multiple tabs in an ASIR. Think of tabs as separate pages. If you click on the Format Paint brush
on the far right, you will have an option to customize the Tab Bar's background color, font color, and logo that gets displayed at the far right of the tab bar.
An example of a formatted tab bar with 2 tabs:
Page Formatting
First, to add a new page, simply click on the add page button
in the upper right corner. (Even if you chose to Build from Scratch, you always have access to choose templates by clicking the Templates button
up top as well). Adding a page will further give you the option to select from a template or build from scratch. To change the background color of the Page, locate the paintbrush icon next to the Edit | Preview modal in the upper right side of the page. Changing the background color of the change will apply to the entire page, regardless of the background color of individual blocks you choose.
Block Formatting and Discussion
Each block has multiple formatting options, making them a powerful way to customize your page and offers a level of flexibility when adding multiple blocks. At the top right hand corner of each block, you'll see a number of options to customize the block itself (this is separate from the page formatting):
Default Block Settings lets users define and apply consistent styling—such as background color, padding, borders, and widths—across all blocks on a page by toggling “Apply to all blocks,” with a confirmation prompt to override existing settings.
Customize Block Styles: Select this option to change the background color of the block, provide a background image, change the border color. You can also adjust the sizing of the block, including the margins, padding, and width.
Change Block Settings: You will see this gear icon for any block style that has an associated file or link (Image, Video, Content, iFrame blocks). Click this to add or change the files/links in that block.
Duplicate Block: This will simply make a copy of the block to the existing tab you're working on.
Copy Block to Page (AISRs): If you want to copy a block you've created to another tab within your ASIR, click this, select the tab, and it will copy that block to the other tab (inserting it at the bottom of that tab).
Delete Block: Clicking this will delete the block.Start a Discussion: When creating a new landing page or AISR, this feature allows you to leave comments, where you can also @ mention specific people, to collaborate on the build of your asset.
Adding Blocks and Layouts to Pages
Adding Blocks and Layouts to Pages
On the lefthand side of your page, you will see the "Add Blocks" section. These are drag and drop elements that allow you build your pages with ease.
Let's look at each type.
Blocks
Text Block
Text Block
The Text Block is primarily for adding text, but its rich text editor also lets you easily embed images, videos, iFrames, tables, and button links, and format your text. Use a Text Block when you need to combine text with these media types, unlike dedicated blocks like the Video Block for example.
Image and Video Blocks
Image and Video Blocks
Use this block to insert an image or video. When you add an image or video, you can further adjust their size and position:
Full Width: Look for the Full Width button at the bottom of the added media - this will automatically re-size the image/video to fit the width of the block.
Auto Height: If you've clicked on Full Width, you will additionally see a button for Auto Height. Click this to automatically adjust the height of the media to fit in the block.
Position: Once you've added an image or video, you'll note the media position options appear to position the media left, center or right within the block.Drag and resize: In addition to using the Full Width or Auto Height options, you can simply drag and resize the image manually:
Image Link: For added Images, you can have that image act as a link to a specific URL. Simply put the URL below the image you've added:
Avatar video

AI Video
AI Video
There are two video options:
Fully Editable Video: Videos are built in three steps, giving users full control over scenes, script and content assembly.
Create with AI: Uses an agentic, AI-driven experience to generate videos with selected avatars and styles, allowing users to quickly create and refine content through a conversational, chat-based interface.
Both options support key features like translations and closed captions, enabling flexible and scalable video creation depending on your workflow preference.
Embed Content Block (Single piece of content)
Embed Content Block (Single piece of content)
The Embed Content block is for adding a single piece of content from your Content Library. After selecting the "Add Content" (or, alternatively, clicking the gear Icon
for that block), you can select the specific file from your library.
For added content, you'll note similar options as the Image & Video blocks in terms of resizing the asset thumbnail - Full Width, Left | Center | Right positioning and drag and resize.
Once you've added the content, you have a further array of visibility settings to customize how the asset appears on the page:
Toggling these on or off will display the associated option to the user.
Content Shortcuts Block (multiple pieces of content)
Content Shortcuts Block (multiple pieces of content)
Select this block type to add multiple pieces of content from your content library.
There are two main ways this block works: you can either select specific content manually, or dynamically populate it by filtering based on tags, author, and other criteria. The content block will then automatically update whenever new content is added that meets the selected filters.
In addition to similar formatting options as the Embed Content Block (including Content Settings, where you can toggle on/off what you want displayed alongside the content), you can also choose the layout of the content: Slim, Standard, or Table view.
You can control how the content is ordered in two ways:
Manual – drag and drop to reorder by hovering over the drag box of the content you want to move
By Last Modified – sort by most recently updated
By Date Created – sort by creation date
Alphabetical – sort A–Z or Z–A
Files
Files
If you would like to add any files that aren't currently included in your Content Library (such as from your Desktop), use this block to include on your page.
iFrame Block
iFrame Block
Use the iFrame block to embed iFrames into your page (ex: custom forms, videos, documents, etc).
Form Block
Form Block
Form blocks provide simple forms that allow you to collect information from your landing page/AISR, such as feedback or files.
When you first add a form, you give the Form a name, a description, and provide the email address(es) you want any submissions to go to. From there, click the add field
button to add a text or file field for the user to input.
Key Contacts
Key Contacts
Key contacts provide an easy way to showcase people associated with the topic, experts in the field, or who to reach out to for any questions. You can select contacts from within your organization (but using the dropdown or search field) or you can create a new contact if they are not within your organization. You can drag and reorder these contacts by hovering over the
square with dots icon.
Task Tracker
Task Tracker
This block is most applicable for AISRs when working with prospects and customers. The Task Tracker helps manage mutual success plans, follow-ups, and other dynamic task lists, providing structure and visibility into progress. It can also be viewed as a Gantt chart to show timelines, dependencies, and milestones.
Layouts
Below the Add Blocks section of the side navbar, you'll see an option for adding different layouts.
Columns
Columns
Includes 2 or 3 column horizontal or 2 or 3 column vertical. By selecting these options, you create a columnar format in which you can then further add the above blocks.
Note: Certain block types aren't allowed within columns, in which you'll see a red "not allowed here" message pop up when you try to add it to that column.
Tabs
Tabs
User interface elements that help organize content and features in a clear and structured manner. They allow users to navigate between different sections or components.
To edit: Simply click the Generate with AI
button next to the question to have the AI re-generate it based on input you provide. Alternatively, you can edit the question directly, including the explanations the learner sees upon answering.
Surveys
Surveys
Free Form
Free Form
Free-form surveys allow you to collect user feedback. These surveys are ungraded and visible only to the owner, admin, or creator. You can view all submissions along with the respondent’s name and timestamp.
Rating
Rating
Rating surveys let you ask users to rate something on a scale from 1 to 5. You can define what each end of the scale represents (i.e., what 1 and 5 mean). Results include the total number of responses, average score, mean, and a detailed table showing each user’s response with timestamps.
Page Sidebar Navigation (Sections)
Page Sidebar Navigation (Sections)
Each tab within an AISR or Landing Page has the option to have a side navigation page when published. This is customizable in the Sections pane on the left hand side of the page you're editing:
Formatting the Sections pane
By default, each tab will show the sections pane, which becomes the side nav bar when published. To hide the side nav bar in any published tab, simply click on the eye icon
at the top of the Sections (you will still see it when editing, but it won't appear as a side nav bar in the published tab).
To customize the look of the side nav bar, click on the paintbrush
icon at the top of the Sections pane.
Here you toggle on/off the Preview, Icon and allowing sections to be collapsed. You can also customize the Side Nav Bar's background, border and text colors.
Customizing the look and feel of the Side Nav Bar
When you add a block to a page, it will show up in the Sections pane as the name of that block type. Each block can in turn act as a link within the published tab. To customize the name of the link displayed in the side nav bar, simply change the name of the block on the page itself.
Each added block can be displayed or hidden within the published side nav bar by simply clicking on the eye
icon next to each block element. The block will be shown by default whenever you add it to the page:
You can further format the sidebar links by hovering over the title to review options to make the text Italicized or Bold
Lastly, you can nest links by moving the slider below the block title. This is helpful if you have subsections within a page you want to be part of a bigger section
