What You Need

  • Salesforce - Required for deals (Opportunities)

  • Gong (optional) - For auto-importing calls into deals

Step 1: Connect Salesforce

  1. Go to SettingsIntegrationsCRM

  2. Find Salesforce and click Authorize

  3. Sign in to Salesforce and approve access when prompted

  4. The Letter managed package will be installed in your Salesforce org

When you see “Salesforce is authorized for your organization,” the connection is complete.

Step 2: Connect Gong (optional)

If you use Gong for call recording:

  1. Go to SettingsIntegrationsData Sources

  2. Find Gong and click Authorize

  3. Complete the Gong authorization flow

  4. After authorization, copy the Webhook URL shown on the page

  5. In Gong Admin CenterEcosystemAutomation RulesAdd Rule, paste the webhook URL so new calls are sent to Letter Compass

Step 3: Configure Salesforce Field Mappings

  1. Go to SettingsTeam SettingsLetter Compass

  2. Open the Salesforce configuration tab

  3. Review the field mappings (Letter AI fields ↔ Salesforce fields)

  4. If you use custom Salesforce fields, adjust the mappings so they match your org

  5. Click Save changes

If any fields are unmapped, you’ll see a warning. Fix those before finishing setup.

Step 4: Create Live Call Scorecards (optional)

  1. In Letter Compass settings, open the Live call scorecards tab

  2. Click Add scorecard

  3. Name the scorecard and define evaluation criteria

  4. Use the toggle to enable or disable each scorecard

Scorecards are applied to imported calls based on their content.

You’re All Set!

After setup, you can:

  • Open Letter Compass from the sidebar to view your deals

  • See deals synced from Salesforce Opportunities

  • With Gong connected, have calls automatically imported and linked to deals

  • Use live call scorecards to evaluate calls

For next steps, see Using Compass.
