Meeting Prep Brief
Description: You can now open a prep brief for any upcoming customer meeting, straight from the deal. In the deal's Activity view, every upcoming meeting card carries a Pre Meeting Brief chip — click it whenever you want, and Compass generates the brief from everything it knows about the deal at that moment and opens it in a side pane. If you would rather have it come to you, Compass also sends the same brief by email and Slack DM ahead of the meeting; you choose how far in advance, in 15-minute steps, and which channels. The brief is a two-minute read: what the meeting is for and one outcome to aim for, a line per external attendee with their stance and the one thing they care about, anyone who has joined or dropped off since last time, a recap of the last conversation and what has changed since, open threads in both directions, three or four suggested talking points each tied to the call or email it came from, and two or three watch-outs such as a competitor mention, pricing sensitivity, or an exec who has gone quiet. Recommended content, courses, and AI role plays appear as links straight back into Letter rather than attachments, and are generated when you click one. Internal meetings and meetings not matched to a deal produce no brief. Reps can turn the emails off for themselves; admins control the org-wide format.
Solution & Impact: Compass has only ever pushed intelligence after a call. Preparing for the next one was manual work — re-read the last call, dig through the CRM, work out who the unfamiliar attendee is — and when an AE, an SE, and a manager joined the same meeting, there was no single artifact any of them had read beforehand. This turns half an hour of prep into a two-minute read you can pull up on demand, and gives the whole deal team the same starting point.
Call Recorder
GoTo Connect Phone Calls
Description: If your team makes and takes calls on GoTo Connect, those calls now come into Compass. Once an admin connects the GoTo Connect account from integration settings, every completed external call on the account shows up in Compass with who was on it, whether it was inbound or outbound, and when it started and ended — no per-rep opt-in. Where call recording is turned on in GoTo, the recording and transcript follow, and the call runs through the same analysis as any other recorded call: AI summary, scorecards, and coaching. Lines without recording still show the call, with a clear note that no recording is available rather than an empty transcript. Internal-only calls and very short dials are filtered out, and if the connection drops, calls made during the gap are backfilled automatically once it is restored. Recordings require call-recording access to be enabled on your GoTo Connect account and for the connecting user; your Letter contact can walk you through it.
Solution & Impact: A recording bot can join a meeting, but it cannot join a phone call. For teams doing their selling on the phone, most conversations were invisible to Compass — coaching, scorecards, and deal intelligence only ever saw the calendared meetings. GoTo Connect joins RingCentral and Outreach Voice as dialers Compass collects from directly.
Account, Participants, and Call Score Filters
Description: You can now filter the Call Library by Account, Participants, and Call Score, alongside the existing Deal and Deal Owner filters. Account returns every call tied to an opportunity on the accounts you pick, with an Unassigned option for calls whose deal has no account. Participants returns calls a person actually attended rather than only the ones they own, on both the Matched and Unmatched tabs, and deactivated teammates stay selectable so their calls stay findable. Call Score takes a coaching scorecard plus an optional 0–100 range, so you can pull every call scoring below a threshold on a specific scorecard in one step. Every filter's options come from your own data rather than a fixed list, and the filter menu is now two columns so long option lists stay usable on smaller screens.
Solution & Impact: Filtering by Owner alone hid most of the calls a person was in — a manager or solutions engineer joins many calls and owns very few. And there was no way into call review from the score side: finding the calls worth coaching on meant opening them one at a time. Score filtering is the front door to that review loop, and Account brings the library closer to the CRM-native slicing reps already expect.
Keyword Triggers
Description: You can now tell Compass which words to watch for on your calls. When you enable the Call Recorder — or any time afterwards from the Call Recorder page — enter a comma-separated list of keywords: competitor names, a pricing term, a product you want to track. A call's detail page then shows a Keywords mentioned section whenever one of yours came up, mentions surface on the Deal Overview the way competitor mentions already do, and your daily or weekly digest collects the matches since the last one with a link to the call and the surrounding snippet. The Letter AI Agent can read your list too, so you can ask it about your tracked terms directly. Keyword lists are personal — two people looking at the same call each see only their own hits, and nobody sees anyone else's list.
Solution & Impact: Compass already picked up competitor mentions on its own, and the Agent could answer questions about what was said on a call — but only if you thought to ask. There was no way to name a term you cared about once and have the mentions come to you. Matching is literal text, which keeps it exact and predictable: add the variants and spellings you want caught, since a keyword will not match a near-miss on its own.
Platform
Setup Checklist
Description: You now see a Setup chip in the Compass header, beside Import Deals, showing how many setup steps you have left with a progress ring. Click it and you get a short checklist of what is still needed, each item with a one-line explanation and a button that takes you straight to the setting. Reps see two required steps — connect your calendar and turn on the Call Recorder — followed by two recommended ones: set up pre-call notifications and set up your keyword tracker. Admins see the org-level steps first — connect your CRM, enable the Call Recorder for your team, configure team keyword trackers — with their own personal items underneath. Completion is detected automatically: connect your calendar and the item checks itself off on your next page load. If your admin has not enabled the Call Recorder yet, that item shows as locked with an Ask admin nudge, and unlocks with a New tag the moment it is switched on. You can skip an item you do not need, or hide the chip until something new comes along; it never opens on its own, and once you reach 100% it shows a success state and retires. The list is always available under Settings › User Preference › Setup.
Solution & Impact: New reps landed in Compass with nothing connected — no calendar, no recorder — so Compass could not prep or capture their calls, and the dashboard read Inactive for every account owner. Admins connected the CRM and stopped, leaving reps unable to record and manager views empty. Nothing in the product said what was left, and the steps were scattered across Settings and onboarding emails. Now they are in one place, in order, and they check themselves off.
